Did I see this right?
Towards the end of the Kats Eye News Special Report clipshow, the Metallikats were going to reveal the secret identities of the SWAT Kats to the cops in exchange for something, freedom probably. But then the Commander says something like, "I don't make deals with criminals." and shoots them in their heads?? Pretty scary thing for the police to do, even if in cartoon cat form.

The weapon he uses against them is called the neural neutralizer. If you've seen the episode Metal Urgency, from which that clip is taken, you see when Professor Hackle gives Commander Feral the device and tells him how to use it. Exactly what it does is unclear. Hackle says it will stop them "once and for all," but their heads are later retrieved and they're rebuilt just fine in the season finale Katastrophe, so it seems as though the device just shut them off.
I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?
