FYI

I never expected to find an actual fanbase on the internet for this show. Then again, who would've expected Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to be so popular? The concept's ridiculous if you think about it.

Anyway, thought you'd be interested to know if you didn't already that Cartoon Network's 'supposed' to be showing episodes again.

Spurred on by The Watcher's post, I went to tvguide.com to check it out. Sure enough, they show SWAT Kats back in its old time slot.

Looking ahead to the week after next (I know, if they yank the show again, it's all for naught, but just for optimism's sake), they still list it being shown.

Here is the SWAT Kat world according to tvguide starting Mon March 6:

Mon: Mutation City
Tue: When Strikes Mutilor
Wed: Razor's Edge
Thr: Deadly Pyramid
Fri: Cavern of Horror

Mon: Volcanus Erupts, The Origin of Dr. Viper
Tue: Unlikely Alloys
Wed: Dark Side of the SWAT Kats
Thr: Cry Turmoil, SWAT Kats Unplugged
Fri: Special Report: the Best of the SWAT Kats

I have no idea what that Friday entry might be, maybe it's a "generic" title for the slot when they don't know what the actual ep is.

I was disappointed to see that it seems they aren't picking up where they left off after showing the first 5 of the 1st season. However, potentially interesting point to note:

Their listing shows them starting at the 2nd season. That means they skipped over 8 eps of the 1st season. But, in the two weeks it wasn't on the air, that would have been the time they needed to show the 8 eps and have a day free (like it was listed Feb 21- Monday was something else, Tue-Fri was SWAT Kats). So I wonder if someone down the line didn't realize the show hadn't been run for 2 weeks and reported next week's schedule as if it had been continually showing all this time?

This is so confusing. We won't know for sure until Monday and see what comes on tv at that time. If it is on the air, then good! If it is 2nd season, I hope they keep it on the air long enough for them to cycle back through the 1st season to catch the eps they didn't show.

As an afterthought... went to the cartoon network schedule page. As of today, their schedule for next week has Ozzy and Drix listed in the time slot all that week... no sign of SWAT Kats. Gotta love it.
