Just saw A Snow White Christmas

Its great being up at 6am with a stomach flu. Anyway, A Snow White Christmas came on and I watched it because I felt to bad to change the TV. Some of the characters have a very She-Ra look, so I had to get up to come on here. Sure enough they both share Lou Scheimer as producer.

I believe Erika Scheimer was the voice of the young Snow White, Melendy Britt was the Evil Queen, and Diane Persing was the older/original Snow White.

I think Melendy Britt was MUCH MORE IN HER ELEMENT playing evil characters than heroines. The Evil Queen character seemed to fit her like a glove. I know most fans worship her as She-Ra/Adora, but as far as I'm concerned, her good-girl Adora voice was sometimes forced/fake, and her She-Ra voice came across as too smug on a number of occasions (whereas John Erwin almost never sounded smug as He-Man).....I also cringe when I hear her final line in 'The Sword of She-Ra/The Secret of the Sword' - "Farewell, dear brother!" It sounds so insincere, as though Melendy were trying desperately to sound dramatic/Shakespearean. All her EVIL QUEEN lines in 'A Snow White Christmas', however, are spot on - she sounds alternately insecure and vicious, as befits the character.

The REAL STAR OF THE SHOW, however, is Erika Scheimer I think. She sounds so different, since she was very young at the time, but she is PITCH PERFECT all the way through, engendering constant affection and sympathy for the character. Hard to believe that this same girl would go on to sound like Queen Angella and Imp.
