Someone once told me that it is a spoof/children's version of Hogan's Heroes. I was wondering if anyone knew if it is true....I haven't watched Recess in years, but I do believe that the theme songs are very similar.

I could see it in that way. There was the episode where the gang visits some senior citizens in a rest home and T.J. meets the man who created Señor Fusion and the man flashes back to when he was in a P.O.W. camp. The other people in the camp looked like grown up versions of the Recess gang and there was a German soldier who spoke like Sgt. Schultz.

The opening definitely references Hogan's Heroes, I thought about that the other day listening ot the theme music.
