I love the romance in this movie. It felt so real and the chemistry between Tess and Angel was amazing. Anyone know of similar romantic movies that give you the same delicate romantic feel ( without the tragic end)? Thanks!
shareThe 2015 Far From the Madding Crowd was not bad and not such a tragic end with a light romance. And it's another Hardy. There is a 60s version of it too that I haven't yet seen, that has amazing older actors.
Also, BBC's North and South is really good, but it's a mini series.
And BBC's Persuasion with Sally Hawkins is very good and romantic
too.

I love, love the 1995 versions of 'Persuasion', and 'Pride and Prejudice'. I'm curious to check out the 2007 'Persuasion' though.
I will add; 'Anne of Green Gables' and 'Anne of Avonlea' with Megan Follow's. Best slow unraveling love story ever. Ignore the 3rd installment though, it seemed to have lost all of it's previous magic, the story is patchy, and the actors look considerably older.
I prefer the 1997 'Jane Eyre'. Only because I think Ciaran Hinds and Samantha Morton are great. But it seems everybody has a favorite version; there are many!
