I disregard the other Shrek movies, do you also?

I feel like for me there is only one true Shrek, and it's the first one, I can't be the only one.

Shrek 3 is the only one I skip. The others are all OK IMO.

I have to say you might just be alone on this. I understand disliking the third and maybe the fourth, but I've never heard anyone say they didn't like the second. In fact, a lot of people prefer Shrek 2 among the lot of them.

"If life is getting you down and needs uplifting, then please come dance with me!"

No

No, the second film was and is a great movie. That's why it made so much money. I mean, the GIANT Gingerbread Man is fcking classic. But, yeah, the sequels after that were awful... and I can't figure out why.

reply

The reason is:

Jeffery Katzenberg: "Shrek 1 and 2 were profitable as @#$%, so we're making Shrek 3. Now."

Dreamworks Story Writers: "OK, give us some time to come up with a story, a worthwhile plot, good new characters..."

JK: "No time for that crap. I said NOW."

Shrek 3 was so bad that it made a lot of people fail to realize that Shrek 4 was actually pretty good.

reply

Please, only the first and last are good. They were pretty much milking it. If you ask me there should have been 2 with the fourth story being the only sequel.

This one and the second ones are the only ones I enjoy and loved. The third and fourth I've seen but don't remember much of it.

The first is great and all, but Shrek 2 is one of the greatest comedies of all time.
