Beastiality-Subtext? (spoilers)

Hey. One of the tags for this movie is "Beastiality-Subtext". I'm doing a bit of research about bestiality portrayal in movies. Can someone explain to me how that aspect comes into play in the movie? I don't mind spoilers.

its not sex with the animal that gives it its bestiality subtext. It's the idea of a man falling in love with an animal. there are a few parts where he is showing a little bit more affection than normal through licking the cat at one point and being jealous when she leaves the cave.

Perhaps some might interpret the story that way but the theme is 'bigger' than that. The novella it comes from "A Passion in the Desert" by Honore de Balzac is worth reading, but the film as a derivation maintains the theme. Can man live in peace with the rest of nature and it's creatures? Must we always destroy the beauty of the wilderness?

Watch Passion in the Desert and look at the larger theme. Get beyond the human DUMB!

First of all, it's hardly subtext. Bestiality is the central storyline. The subtext would probably be how familiar the relationship between the soldier and the beast is. It is so human - implying that human relationships are nothing if not bestial. It's a little bit of philosophical cliche, but I still like the film.
