I LOVED This Movie!

If you loved this movie then please post it here! I never write reviews but I just can't believe the low level of activity on these boards, and this film being rated at on 5.8???

I'm watching it over my shoulder as this very moment and reading other's comments on these boards and I felt like I HAD TO let more people know what a wonderful little gem of film this truly is.

The Soundtrack is killer! Steely Dan, Argent, E.L.O., Badfinger--this little movie ROCKS hard! And the casting is great! Alec Baldwin? He is both hilarious and touching; brilliant as 'Old Man Dumphy' as are many others like George Wendt as 'Joey' and even my man Richard Jenkins as 'Barney' from the poker group.

The Late 70's Early 80's Feel thing was well done. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why repeated viewings of this little gem are more and more enjoyable each time? You'll read of many people find this DVD in the "Family Favorites" section for $1.99 and in Walmart's $5.00 bin. If you see it there take it home and enjoy it.

It's well worth it I promise you so well--there's SO MUCH for one to like: this is an undiscovered gem of a comedy; funny sometimes raucous and touching, a very good 'coming of age film, and fond remembrance of those old pot days from the past for thosefolks of/from the 70's/80's. It's a rare kind of film that surprises you with so many little gifts you don't normally expect to see in a comedy like this. I think it's a GREAT film that will get it's due one day.

I was compelled to come here and write something to pimp the scene with Balwin and Sean Hatosy at the bar talking about his mother. Excellent!

What a great little movie.

Couldn't agree more. I think you covered everything. Awesome soundtrack, good performances, laughs galore....

Look, I'm just gonna go home and kill myself. You wanna share a cab?

Totally under-rated, under-appreciated film....I live outside Providence and grew up in that era so it appealed to me probably more than most.

I think a lot of people were disappointed in that this was a Farrelly film but not a gross out one like Dumb and Dumber etc.

I just finished watching this for the upteenth time. As for opinions on movies, just take it as everyone has different tastes.

I remember when this movie was released, but didn't see it until it came on cable. I want to get the DVD, but don't want to go through ebay or amazon; I don't trust them.

The soundtrack, the pacing, the script, and the acting (especially Baldwin) are superb, in my opinion. It is one of my top ten favorite films of all time.

AGREE! I'm 48 and this film really nailed the "feel" of my teenage years--and I grew up in the San Fernando Valley! Great little gem of a film, highly under appreciated. It was based on the book by Peter Farrelly, but he didn't direct it (though he did co-write the screenplay.) So, people might have expected something different when it came out. I put this on my top ten too. :)
