Is this movie part of a series?

Hi all,

I picked up this movie for $2 at a local discount shop, and watched it recently.

The kids loved it, but I couldn't help but think that it resembled one of a possible series, due mostly to the characters and the way they were introduced.

Does anyone know if there are possible prequels and sequels to it?
