I was a pot/psychedelic dealer for years... I smoked pot and used psychedelics for years as well (just wanted to state that so you know this is not a case of someone "not getting it"). This is possibly the worst movie ever made, and I have seen "Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys." It seemed as if it was written by a 15 year old (and a borderline retarded one at that) who has done some drugs and wanted to throw every life experience he has ever had or ever heard of anyone else having into 90 minutes. Granted, I have seen worse movies, but those seemed to know they were horrible. This movie actually seemed to be trying for something, which is incredibly sad. Anyone who likes this movie is no one I would ever want to meet. You know the stoner at a party who is going on and on about his monumentally simple-minded philosophical thoughts that you figured out in middle school, but he still thinks are so deep? Yea, that is the guy who likes this movie. Seriously, if you liked this movie, just end it now and start over... you have lost at the game of life.

That said, Jack Black and Andy Dick had some funny moments, but you could bottle all of them up into about 5 minutes. Honestly, if you are a fan of this movie, then I'm not sure how you could manage to read this post or use a computer.

So you are a druggie and a dealer and you want to talk like this over someone who likes a movie? So someone who likes said movie can't read or use a computer yet Mr. Drugdealer over here thinks he is so much better? Get a life *beep*. It's just a movie. Just because you *beep* your life up doing drugs doesn't mean you have any opinion on how sober people spend their time.

haha i was gonna leave this thread after my first post but i have to tell you... you're a big fan of alice in chains, right? you're insulting drugs and the people who do them like you'd impale alice in chains if you knew what they did for fun - 'there was a period of about two years where all of us would do anything we could get our hands on' (not exact words, but exact same thing said) ;)

if i get home before daylight, just might get some sleep tonight

Man Alicia Witt and Brittany Murphy completely ruined this movie for me. Luke Wilson did too. They were all very static and it was a relatively ill-thought out script, in my opinion. I bet the book was awesome but damn did this movie disappoint me. The only part I truly liked was Jack Black's singing.

Personally I like it as it reminds me of my life as a Time share sales 'person' during the mid 90's in Spain.. dunno why but it does...

Stop smoking cr^ck and you may have a longer attention span people.

It is a comedy but not the Seinfeld Show where the jokes are spelled out in big letters for you.

Anyways Jack Black (Devlin) is at his best in this flick...
Jesus Ranch rocks.

Yeah... I a creature from the 70s and I think you got that wrong. They only way you can get anything out of this is to watch it wasted.

I just finished watching it for the first time. My "wasted" days long over and I gotta tell this thing bored me to tears and I live near Portland.

The biggest highlight for me was waiting for the boom mike to drop into the scene; which never happened because Netflix changed the format.

I rarely say I want the minutes back from watching film, but I want my minutes back, this thing, to quote Andy Dick "sucked balls".

I agree this movie was a huge pile of crap. Not only was the screenplay, acting, and writing *beep* but the production was horrible too. There were at least 5 scenes in which the boom mic came into the frame. I live in Portland too so I really wanted to like this movie. I agree with just about every point thedonsdank made except for attacking people who liked this movie. While I agree that it doesn't take a genius to figure out how bad this movie is, to each their own.

dude, this movie totally made FUN of the stoner at the party with the monumentally simple-minded thoughts, thinking they're deep. and people who think the guy's "art" was actually good...and the portland scene...
also, the people who made the movie didn't write it...it was based on a book. the movie de-emphasized the characters, focused on the scene, and injected some wacky humor. I don't by any means think it was a great movie, but it was enjoyable enough. there's no reason to hate on it so hard, though...you obviously DIDN'T get it. it was totally tongue-in-cheek.

i dont know how tongue-in-cheek this movie was but the blonde and the red head couldnt act for *beep* and probably the only thing enjoyable about this movie was seeing Tenacious D, KG should have had some lines, other than that...

so this guy meets a chick and then all of a sudden she moves in and shes nucking futz but he doesnt put her out, and then he's in love after either 2 or 3 weeks....i aint buyin that homie

yeah and the blonde chick acted like she had never been hi in real life and over acted the *beep* out of it

im sure this movie's alot better high but i aint got no green so *beep* it

I love how EVERY MOVIE on IMDb has a post on it's board about how it is the "Worst Movie Ever" or "This Movie Is SOOOOO Overrated"....it's all pretty lame to me.

To the original poster and anyone else who thinks they are cool when they insult people who like a movie they don't;

When people want to write a review that doesn't insult anyone who might like the show, and use constructive critisism, I can appreciate that, no matter how different our opinions are.

If you really believe this is the worst movie ever made (yeah...right) that is your opinion. But saying that people who would like this movie need to be generalized and put into the "stupid category" just proves how moronic you are. Theres a huge problem in the world where people force their opinions on others because they believe that they are right and the other person is wrong. It ussualy never gets explained beyond that other then "they are idiots if they like this, cuz I hated it!"

What a pathetic mentality to have.

y'know i wouldn't call him/her a fascist, just someone who was...'passionate' about something just enough to want to post & show everyone how passionate they were. and i don't know about you but i think telling that he sold drugs was a VERY important fact because that means he's saying he knows what the real life of it is like and y'know not all dealers get massively high on their own supply. but i'm not really on anyone's side here, i've only got one thing to say.

can't we all just agree that there's at least a movie WORSE than this about drugs/partying that's terribly written and lacks proper depth - saturday night fever. am i right? :)

ps. by the way, if someone's gonna be a critic about films and expect them to fill some pretty big shoes, i'd say get HIGHER INSTEAD so they like everything just a bit more haha ;) i mean come on people, how many of you have insulted drugs in this thread when you're posting on a stoner movie board?!

I wouldn't go so afar as to say "the worst movie ever made". but I just think it was a really boring movie.

Probably the 2nd worst (behind the Wackness) stoner film ever made.

I would not call it the worst movie ever. I WOULD call it one of the worst Stoner-movies ever.

Luke Wilson as a Stoner: *beep* laughable!!!!

And yeah, I'm sort of stoner myself ( although I don't smoke as much weed as i did a few years ago).

Seriously, if you know the Stoner- "Business", you have to hate this movie.

If you're not a stoner and like this movie, well- you're probably a retard.

Only good thing about this movie was Jack Black, and he was there for like 5 minutes ^^
