I think it is,I'm not sure.I watch every Monday yet I can't seem to remember if his arm is gold or not.All I can say for sure is that he only has two arms when he transforms.

You are correct. The mummies would materialise gold armour that gave them their powers. Amon would materialise a gold arm in the process.
As a previous poster explained he lost his original arm in battle while alive.
