Probably one of the best shows.... To make a long story short, a few days ago I found myself still wide awake at 5 a.m. I caught 2 back to back episodes of Double Dare on Nick Gas... Great Show, I've read Marc Summers' book as well....

Marc Summers made Double Dare the great show that it was... A few years ago they tried to come out with Double Dare 2000, hosted by some guy who looked liked he was a relative of someone at Nickelodeon or something. Nice try, but no thanks. But, that's just me.

I loved how you could always tell that Marc Summers hated the show after the first season, but he kept going.
shareSomething else I always liked about this show was the fact that Marc Summers tried so hard to avoid getting anything on him and when he did he went a little crazy. Only to find out a few years later he had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and was terrified of getting dirty. I remember one time when he was explaining the obstacle course to these kids and the annoucer Harvey said that if they finished in time he would get to throw a pie in Marc Summers face. Marc, obviously shaken, said something to the effect of, "Oh, come on, no one wants to see that", which made the crowd cheer even louder. Then he said something like, "Harvey (long pause) I just don't......". He eventually agreed on the condition that he got to hit Harvey with a pie if they didn't make it in time. They ended up completing the obstacle course within the minute and Marc got the pie to the face.
Marc said in his book that he would usually take 3 or 5 showers after tapings of Double Dare until he felt he was completely clean.
Yeah, Double Dare was a great show.

i taped a kind from Nick Gas, just to have a kind of double dare on tape, and it was Super Sloppy Double Dare and Marc Summers ANd Harvey were contestants! they had a guest host (who was funny)
at the end marc was like "I have a new appreciation for what these kids go through!"
i have a message board up for trying to petition double dare to get back on to regular cable ,Not digital cable
for people to vote on their favorite episode
so if anyone from this board is interested
please, go over to the other message board named
"petition to get All double dare episodes back on nick on cable tv!!!"
and maybe any showing of the episodes on nick
might convince them to put double dare on dvd in complete seasons
