I thought HBO did a good job

I'm re-watching this show on Hulu Plus now. I thought all of the casting choices were fine. I just wish HBO had done more episodes. Had it not been for the Disney channel & Nickelodeon airing the show in reruns,I don't think I would have seen it w at all since my family didn't have HBO when it originally aired.

I'm glad we got at least 13 episodes because HBO picked it up originally. I know many posters here are complaining about the differences between the show & the books. I didn't read the books but does it need to be said again? With few exceptions, films & tv shows never follow the books! The directors & casting agents often have never heard of the author or their work. When they do, they don't want to be influenced by the source material. I also heard a lot of current directors of comic book films say they didn't know the project had been a comic! Two major characters from 'X-Men' were changed for the film. Wolverine(Logan) is very short and Storm (Ororo) is very tall. Yet in the films 6'2 Hugh Jackman was cast as Wolverine & 5'5 Halle Berry was cast as Storm. Go figure. 
