Starfleet Academy the movie
Looks like someone's taken all the clips from the game and attempting to put it together into a movie.
Haven't bothered watching all way through as it's boring. But interesting idea.
I'm aware of one fan-edited film, which I have not watched, which the end credits claim integrates scenes from Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (1997) and Star Trek: Klingon Academy (2000). Despite sharing scenes from both, it shares its name with only the first. I'm not aware whether it incorporates any original (i.e. new) material or recordings of user game-play. According to the same credits, the editor is apparently "Number 156", production organization "Vinyl Mind". I'm not able to date when they may have produced their edit. All I could gather is that a group with the same name appears to be in the music business.
The owners of Star Trek don't appear to hunt down and destroy their enthusiastically creative fans (a wise decision in the long run) so I suspect this fan edit won't get them in trouble.
This shouldn't be confused with the German fan film Starfleet Academy, which appears to be mostly or entirely original work, within the Star Trek universe. Apparently it is expected to have its premiere October 16, 2011.
