i am referencing the text at the bottom of the screen after the first teacher is murdered. i remember it reading something like..."Next Semester...Yesterday."
Just curious as to what that possibly means. WHEN DOES THIS MOVIE TAKE PLACE???

Exactly! This movie makes no sense timewise. After the killer escapes from the mental institution in the beginning, the movie jumps to "Next Semester, Yesterday".
SPOILER>>>>>>>>At the end of the movie, when the priest is locked away after being caught, the workers at the mental ward say he escaped SEVERAL YEARS AGO and that he was teaching at the school for the PAST TWO YEARS! WTF is that?!
The "yesterday" subtitle seemed like a nod to "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?," though I may be reading too much into that. As for when the movie takes place, 1981 is my best guess, as that's when the bulk of the movie was shot. I have no explanation for the "two years" error, other than the fact that the one and only person paying attention to continuity was the film's lead actress, Forbes Riley.
