First Rate Backwoods Drama

This movie was a million miles better than I expected. The script is tight and the acting is really decent. There is some good attention and detail involving the mountain community and Trapped actually avoids many cliches associated with other "backwoods dilema" films. The guy who shot the picture actually did the cinematography for some big films like Videodrome and Scanners. I think Trapped must have had a pretty limited run upon it's initial release back in the early 80's.

Agreed. Henry Silva is one of the best actors of all time when it comes to portraying villains. This movie was no exception. I watched him in countless giallos, thrillers, action flicks etc. over the decades and he was good in every one.

This movie is superior to all the subsequent "backwoods redneck" horror flicks that have been made since. Again Henry Silva is a big part of it but the supporting cast of "rednecks" were also good.

Long live the 70s!
