prom queen car crash scene question

just got my copy from cenefear and love it!

in the prom queen crash scene there is the dead prom queen, her date and the driver of the other car. then you have the cop, little kid and the guy in the wheelchair wheeling around freaking out and you can see something under the cars. is that the wheelchair guys buddy or girlfriend that got run over?
