When Kate admitted to Val that Lizzie was drinking and Val confronted Lizzie with it, Lizzie felt betrayed and blamed Kate for Janie's death and refused to speak to Kate and when Kate tried to confront Lizzie at a party, Lizzie who is drunk and upset leaves.
