Was Tamara supposed to be unattractive?

As I recall, on the show Tamara was the girl that guys didn't like. I remember one guy was asked to go on a date with her and complained about it. There were also several times where she said she wasn't very pretty. I didn't agree though. I thought she was very pretty. So, was she supposed to be unattracive or was she an attractive girl who guys didn't like simply because she was weird and stuff?
