Forever In Love With Breaker High

Oh man, this was definitely my favourite show when I was younger. I watched this (and Ready or Not =D) every night it was on, without fail. Before I moved out here to England, they were still showing repeats of it every night at 11 (mountain time, I'm a Calgary girl), but when I went back after living here for seven months, alas, it was no more.

I always had a thing for Sean Hanlon, maybe because he was such an uberdork and didn't care. And now Ryan Gosling is tottering on the brink of superstardom, and so many fangirls are jumping onto the boat after he did Murder By Numbers and The Notebook. I might be the only one, but it irks me when people see an actor in something years after they've made a decent name for themselves. It's like people referring to Johnny Depp as "that guy from Pirates of the Caribbean".

Of course, it doesn't take a lot to irritate me. I'd just prefer that if people were going to do the whole fangirling thing, that they actually watch more than one movie by an actor and have some halfway viable information as to their filmography.

That's all from me, guess it turned into a bit of a rant, haha. <3

Breaker High Forever!

PS: did anybody else just ADORE Tony? Hahah

Oh man! I totally agree. Everyone loves Ryan Gosling now that he was in The Notebook, but I've been "in love" with him since I was a little girl! I loved Breaker High, it was my favourite show. I was always rooting for Sean and Tamara! Max may have been sexy but he was too brooding for me. I always liked fun guys like Sean. *Sigh* Maybe if enough of us whine - they'll put the episodes on DVD! <3

I LOVE Breaker High! I grew up watching it everynight on YTV in Canada. I always wanted Sean and Tamira together too, they were perfect. And in the back of mind, I always thought Jimmy would end up with Denise, I dunno why though. Probably because they were so different and they didnt go out with other people much.

I remember the first episode I ever watched was the one where they go to Africa and the girls get stuck with a lion in front of their tent and they have to escape with facial masks on! LMFAO! I always wanted to go to a school like that.

I totally agree with you guys on the whole Sean unknown thing until The Notebook. Sure he looked kinda different back in his Breaker High days but it was his career jump pretty much. Sean and Jimmy were my favourites. They would get even more hilarious once it was Sean, Jimmy and Denise doing something. Oh how I long for the show to come back :(

Anakin, you're breaking my heart.

Haha, yeah guys, Sean+Tamara were the best pairings. Now I think that Max was hot, but back in the day I didn't give him a second thought. And Ryan Gosling always comes first.

Sean and Jimmy were my faves too, because they were just so dorky and didn't care. And funny with their goofiness.

Man, those were awesome days back in the 90's. Not everything was great but at least we had quality TV!

I am soooo glad that all you guys agree with me!

I have been in love with Ryan Gosling ever since he played Sean, I mean, I even watched Young Hercules after because he was the star, lol.

I can't stand when ppl say that they are in love with Ryan Gosling when all they're seen him in is the Notebook!

Sean fans for life!!!

I've voted for the show to be released on DVD on tvshowsondvd.com. 620 other people have voted for it at last count also :)
I think they should release it as one huge box set since there were so few episodes.

God, this show was such a HUGE guilty pleasure for me. Especially when I would get home from being in classes all day in college. I didn't even want to think after school so I'd plop my arse in front of the tube with a diet coke and a bag of Doritos and I'd watch "Breaker High." One of the best teen shows ever along with "California Dreams" and "Hey Dude."

I feel the same way as the rest of you. I loved watching "Breaker High" when I saw it in syndication on WAM! a few years ago. My favorite characters were Sean, Jimmy, and Tamira. I related to Tamira a lot; like me, she was very quirky, shy, and she liked Sean. They were too cute together; I hate that she had to mess it up because of Max. I can understand why she had a crush on him, but Sean was a great guy and he adored her. I'd take Sean over Max anyday, hehe.

And I also agree with you about Ryan; when he was on "Breaker High" most people thought he was a skinny dork, but once "The Notebook" came out they were all, "Oh my God, he's so hot, I love him" blah blah. It irritates me because I followed him for a couple years and I liked him beforehand.

Anyway, I really miss "Breaker High." I wish they would air the reruns on TV again, or put it on DVD. I'd buy it. :-)

I know what you mean with the frustration. People jump on the bandwagon after people make it big and say how they've been fans forever. However, Ryan Gosling was around long before Breaker High, he was on the Mickey Mouse Club with Justin Timberlake.

Wow, I haven't checked here in forever, I thought all of you guys had disappeared or something <3

I am still pining over Breaker High. Seriously, the creators of the show HAVE to see how much profit they could make by releasing the series on DVD. I mean, all they have to do is look at the success that Ryan's had, and the fangirls ALONE would buy the set, even if they'd never heard of it before. And those of us who HAVE seen it, would be guaranteed and we outnumber the generic fangirls.

Someone needs to write YTV about it. In fact, I may do just that.

I'm from Calgary too! Damn, Ready or Not, I freaking loved that show too! Major nodding going on here :P

Back then I used to watch tv a lot, back when there were actually some good shows younger people could like and not this O.C, Hills, Gossip Girl *beep*. My So Called Life, Freaks and Geeks, THAT's the kind of stuff we need more of today. I also remember watchiing Get Real or something like that with Jesse Eisenberg, Felix the Cat, Rocco's Modern Life. All YTV pretty much.

But Breaker High...that is like my girlhood right there lol, that show and Sailor Moon were probably the two shows I was most into at that time. I just finished watching some episodes on youtube and it totally brought me back. Some parts were incredibly cheesy but in a funny, innocent way. I was always into Ryan Gosling too, and daydreamed about him all the time. The storyline between Sean and Tamira was what stuck out to me most and really engaged me. The best thing obviously was Ryan, who was and still is a freaking star, SO talented. *sigh* They NEED to put this out on dvd. Why hasn't this happened yet??? I am now craving it so bad.
