Allen Iverson

I heard that Iverson was originally considered for the part of Jesus. Nothing against Ray Allen, but I think Iverson would have lent more credibility to the role due to his background and attitude. He would have come off more naturally than Ray IMO.

I was actually very impressed with Ray Allen's acting debut, felt completely real and raw to the punch. If Spike Lee put that megalomaniac D-bag Twatface piece of $h!+ in the film first right off the bat Iverson would demand like 75% of the $25,000,000 budget. Iverson is a tool and I'm glad that he is pretty much destitute. What he did in his last years with the 76ers was a pathetic arrogant and pure piss in the face of his team mates and the fans. He wanted more money, he cried like a little bitch with a skinned knee when he was benched due to not showing up for practices and once missing a game claiming he was "sick" but didn't call his coach or anyone for that matter. In his last year he showed a pathetic assfaced loser who lost sight of what being a professional athlete is about - THE PASSION AND THE LOVE FOR THE GAME NOT THE F----U----C----K----I----N $$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!-

So screw Allen Iverson I'm glad your broke and just for further ridiculous thought on him being a better choice then Ray Allen - Ray Allen is playing a character who is the #1 prospect in the nation,in order to have a realistic approach too that you need someone who at the very least looks the part (let alone is a phenomenal athlete) Ray Allen is 6'5, Allen Iverson is 6'0. What would look further ridiculous would be Denzel who is 6'0 playing his all star son who is being scouted by every major university and NBA scout in the Country standing the same height as him.

So once again screw Iverson the twateatingcocknockerloser dick face. I hope you enjoy filling chapter 11 asshead

Something tells me you're not a fan of Allen Iverson.
But, I agree that Ray Allen was a better choice.

It was Kobe Bryant originally... Never A.I

Ummm... AI is not destitute.

He has millions still coming to him

Ray has some facial resemblance to Denzel. Which is important since they're playing father and son.

Iverson's height wouldn't be an issue. He was 6'0" when he was drafted #1 overall into the NBA.

Agreed, but the thing is Ray Allen is no Iverson and the reason why it wasn't Iverson who played the part is because he was and always has been a league above Allen, and the bigger the star, the more difficult it gets to schedule a movie with it.

I think it would have been difficult to get any pro scoring more than 20-22ppg to play the part. They are too valuable and therefore too expensive for a movie with a relatively low budget, 25 million $, Washington accepted a significant pay-cut to be in the movie i believe. Comparatively, Jordan's Space Jam cost around 80-100 million $.

I had not heard that Iverson was the first choice. But I'm sure he would have done fine too. Ray Allen's role didn't demand too much. Just someone who looked the part and actually could play.

Iverson does look more thuggish and NYC-slummish than clean-cut Allen does. So there's that.
