is this supposed to be a comedy?

Sorry but I laughed until I almost cried. This movie is a hoot and great fun. I agree with everyone who says this deserves the Criterion treatment. As soon as it was finished, I wanted to watch it again. It's got a great ending I didn't see coming. THE FRIGHTENED WOMAN is an amazing film, that's hard to find but worth the effort.
