What is up with the title?

I bought this today used for 50 pence.

Armageddon. Why'd they pick a title that was the same as another higher profile film about to be/already released? That's bad brains.

And now I see it has a different title in almost every country in the world! Why couldn't they leave it as it was?

Its been known as Deathline, Redline, Armageddon and The Syndicate.
Clearly the people responsible for selling the movie had no idea what
they were doing.
