Is this show good?

I'm just wondering because our Socials teacher is making us watch the whole series since we're studying Mayans for this term. So I'm just wondering if it's any good =] ty.

it's better than actually learning stuff

If you watch it long enough, you'll get that stupid opening song stuck in your head. It happened to me when I had to watch it in our science class in 7th grade.

reply

Oh man, it's soo aweful, I had to watch this in like fifth grade and I hated it so bad

reply

i watched way back when i was in 5th grade, about 11 years ago, and thought it was good. you'd probably enjoy it better if someone taught you how to speak english and not just leave random letters out of words. ass.

reply

Agreed. Reading that was like fingernails on a chalkboard.

reply

Wow. At least 20 years old and still a great deal immature. Good freaking job. You realize your mother is eventually going to have to stop breast-feeding.

And it's called "capitalization". How mentally incapable do you have to be to not be able to do that at the beginning of every sentence?

Anyway, I watched this in the fourth grade, although I can't actually remember whether I liked it or not. I do remember it was kind of pointless and childish, although marginally interesting at times.

You see that yellow stuff? That's my awesomeness.

It's been like 11 years for me, and I still remember that damn theme song. Didn't know Ben Affleck was in it though...

The more you know...

reply

No worse than your grammar.

I thought it was o.k we watched it in 4th grade

reply

No, it's terrible. And the worksheets, anything but the worksheets. And yes that song sucks. We named it the smoker's jam song.

reply

I had to watch it in 6th grade science. I can still remember the theme song and that was 6 years ago.

This movie is awful.

I actually saw this for the first time in 1984 when it originally aired and I really liked it (ok, I was 4) but then we watched it in 5th grade and I really liked it again (nostalgia factor working for me there) but it inspired my friend to learn sign language and work with deaf children--definitely fond memories for us. I never saw the second one with the whole Mayan thing. Any time I hear about bad water somewhere I think about their "water purification" process with the plastic sheets.

LOL - I remember watching this too, because, as someone else said, it was on PBS during that "children's hour(s)" time. When I heard Ben Afflek was in it, I was pretty surprised - now I'd like to see an episode or two again.

Ane yes - to this day, I know that if I am on a boat in salt water, and need fresh water - plastic sheets and bowls will do the trick!!!!! As far as I can remember, that's the ONLY thing I remember about the show, but for some reason, 22 yrs later, it's still stuck in my head.

Now I have to do a search for the music, as I seem to be the only one who doesn't remember the song.

Ok, fixed it up, so you guys can stop critiquing my english. Anywho, you guys were right. Although it was better than doing work, I still have the theme song stuck in my head. I wonder if I'll ever forget it ... only time can tell.

we watched this in elem. and it was ok for a little while cause it had ben affleck in it... but we all dreaded having to watch it the rest of the week. plus the video quality was bad.

reply

Nope. Noooo....it's boring and awful. I dreaded watching this in school.

reply

Its better than most school videos. My class liked it all the way back in 2004.
