Availability in DVD format

I have been attempting to find a DVD copy of "The Thief" (also known as "Vor"). I recently purchased a basic DVD (only the edited 88 minute version with absolutely no extra features--not even widescreen format), a Taiwan official release, from an eBay user in Hong Kong, who is selling new, sealed copies for $5.99 plus shipping. Quite a bargain, I would say. It is in NTSC format, so it is playable in the United States. It also features selectable subtitles in English or Chinese.
According to Amazon.ca (the Canadian subsidiary of Amazon.com), they list VHS and DVD copies of "The Thief" ("Vor"), but they both read "OUT OF PRINT--LIMITED AVAILABILITY"; and no one on that web site is selling any new or used copies, at least as of this writing, Wednesday, 22 February '6. I would assume that if any copies were made available for sale, either new or used, the price would be quite expensive, as this, I am sure, is collectible. (This version includes widescreen format (1.85:1), and subtitles in Spanish, French and English. It is also NTSC format for Region 1.)
Even on eBay, recently, there are no such DVDs for sale (except for the Taiwanese release).
Would anyone out there in cyberspace know if, or when "Vor" may be released commercially in DVD format to the United States?

I can't help with a Region 1 version I'm afraid but I'm trying to find a Region 2 version. Does anyone have any ideas?

Well, this one: http://www.oversystem.com/productinfo.aspx?productid=129
is in PAL (you need multi-system dvd player), region 0 (I beleive it would play in any player), but it doesn't have english subtitles.

reply
