BUMP...

Maybe I should be more specific, this is a link to a review/blog piece I wrote about the film and I was hoping fellow fans or critics of the films could give me their two cents...

"and while I'm very happy to see him back on the A-list, I don't know that we'll ever see him do better work (although his supporting role in Zodiac gave me real hope that he could)."

Did you see Charlie Bartlett? He was also great in that.

I have not seen Charlie Bartlett but will put it in the old que right away. Thanks for the recommendation and thanks for reading.

Nice blog site. I would have commented there but could not register. I have google mail account but that button did not advance after clicking on it. First time that a simple email account was not sufficient.

I assume you love words? Bigamy is cheating on your wife, not your gf's.

My "impression" of your review was that it reviewed RDJ more than the movie, so I read it again and I suppose that is somewhat debatable. Quick plot review but that is about it before showing your love of RDJ?

But this line is what is prompting me to post: "You can't help but root for him in all his sleazy glory." Really? I was rooting for the girls to show a bit more outrage and decision making. Now... maybe that is lack of acting skills that you did comment on or maybe the women were that much in love with the guy? But that much love should result in more distress on the face than what I saw. *Just now*: that makes me wonder if its the acting or the dialogue that is deficient in bringing out a better portrayal of the women in this film? Maybe a female co-writer would have helped?

RDJ was great in Natural Born Killers but the tour de force in that pic was Oliver Stone. I that the movie went overboard on first viewing. Took a second go to see how lyrical he made the violence. Most actors don't act. They just insert themselves into a role and you get that persons "aurea" and rarely anything else==much like your review of RDJ in this flic. I have been attracted to RDJ in everything I have seen in him (Heather Graham too, for different reasons) but it was Charlie Chaplin that impressed me as RDJ ACTING as someone other than himself. Sherlock Holmes and Iron Man are people being used as cartoon characters. Not much acting going on there, too much ham. Same with RDJ character in Natural Born Killers. Those movies would be failures with lesser "personalities" in them, but they are not acting challenges or displays. ymmv.
