Finding video games like these! (3D Movie Maker, Hollywood Mogul)

Does anybody knows games or softwares where you direct films? maybe something like GuitarPro, but instead of making music, you make films.

There is an old game that is alot like SS's Director's Chair called Write, Camera, Action! Which is animated. Just a warning though SS's Director's Chair or Write, Camera, Action! will not work on XP.

Are you SURE that niether of these games will work on Windows XP. I've been dying to play Director's chair - but didn't know about compatibility. Let me know if you've tried it and it doesn't work. Please!

Hi

We had some trouble with games that couldn't play on XP and then my mum did something and they worked, I'll try and find out what it was!!!

reply

I´ve tried the compatibility with 95 or 98 on the XP and the game doesn´t work.
Can anybody tell me how to play this game on XP, please?????

Thanks

reply

Ok, I'm not a 100% this will work but you can try a free program called "DOSBox". It's like an emulator for older DOS games that allows you to transcend the XP barrier. http://www.abandonia.com/main.php?nav=programs
If that doesn't work then google it.

Steven Spielberg's Director's Chair is a Win3x/9x program, so it won't run on DOSBox. It will, however, run on Microsoft Virtual PC, by installing Win9X in your virtual drive. Be warned, though, Virtual PC is a HD-eating monster, but it works great!!

You can, however, install a program like BootMagic and install windows 95 onto your computer to run the program. BootMagic and its PartitionMagic counterpart are the saving graces for a lot of abandonware fans like myself ;p.

the Movies is a horrible game

reply

i think The Movies is a great game...at least when it comes to the freedom of creating your movies...it just goes to show how much technology has improved in just 10 years.

"Munich" deserved Best Picture.

There used to be a game like this for Mac called Sim Cinema. I'm talking really old, like in the Mac OS 7 and 8 days...don't think it was ever updated to run on OS 9 or OS X.

I never played this particular Spielberg game, but I would love to see a new product like Sim Cinema. I thought that was the perfect Hollywood simulation game.
