Spoilers, ok maybe I'm being too harsh, BUT

If there was supposed to be a time lapse between the lynching and the torturing of robert englind's character, the movie portrayed that poorly. It seemed like at one point, he's at home gettin pissed off that his daughter isn't home. The next minute, with absolutely no proof, he gets a mob together and they go lynch the capt. Then it appears that immediately after, he's forgotten his daughter was ewN missing, and goes home to watch porn and bang his wife, with absolutely no conven that his daughter still isn't home. In fact, the search or her just kind of ended after they thought they killed the capt. Just a horrible execution of a scene in my honest opinion.

I took it as being a couple of months had passed. Carlton had transformed completely. Remember too his mess had been destroy so he was off them and any residue from them was completely out of his system. He had moved to a new area so police had no idea where he was. The main detective probably thought he was dead since the last time he saw him was when the mob had forced him into the car.

He wasnt actually worried about his "whore" daughter. He basically knew she was out boning some random guy. He was just using that as an excuse to go after Hendricks.
