Blu-Ray?

A blu-ray for this masterpiece came out last Fall, but in Europe (particularly, out of all places, it came out in Spain):

If anyone has purchased this, could you tell me if it's region locked/would work on blu-ray players in America?

This is honestly one of my favorite films and I only have a bootlegged/downgraded DVD version of the film and would love to own this on Blu-ray.

This is my favorite film of all time. I had no idea there was a blu-ray release. Do you know if it has any extra content on it? Even if it doesn't, I'd get it if there's some way to get past the region-locking (if there is any.)

It would probably have the special features featured on DVD release which had a 15 minute interview with Kiyoshi Kurosawa, original and international trailer. This is honestly one of my favorite all-time films and I am dying for a Blu-Ray, particularly a Criterion release would be amazing. I wish I could see the alternate ending that some people around here are talking about that was shown at some film festivals. Here are some hi-res pics I saw that were issued from a 1080p Japanese broadcast of the film: http://forums.highdefdigest.com/blu-ray-imports-subforum/127657-cure-1 997-kiyoshi-kurosawa-spanish-bluray.html#post2348671

Buy a region free or region B blu-ray player.

I use my PS3 to watch Blu-rays, I don't actually know if the movie functionality is region-free or not, but when it comes to games, it's region-free. I'll have to look into it.

I own the Spanish Blu-ray and it does play on a region A Blu-ray player just fine.
The PQ is a clear improvement from the DVD but be aware it only has Castilian subtitles, no English.
