Was she planning to kill herself with drugs?

I wonder why Gia wanted to buy the large amount of drugs towards the end of the movie? Was she planning to overdose (she already knew she had AIDS by then)? Or was she just planning to get high a few more times (given that she had nothing to lose anymore)? I have not the read the book about her (Thing of Beauty by Stephen Fried), so I don't know if such episode really happened.

Yes that what I think Gia was going to killed herself because of her contacting aids

Since the other person has spelling and grammar issues, yes, the idea was to get high one last time then overdose so she didn't have to deal with the pain of dying from AIDS., Treatments back then were nowhere near as good as they are now, so it was much faster and much more of a brutal death. Very sad.
