please help sort out which DVD release is best

I've got the US season 1 and Australian seasons 2-5 releases.

Extras on the US S1 release are fantastic, with several commentaries and featurettes, though cramming 22 episodes (plus bonus material) onto five discs leaves the picture a mite soft. The UK and original Australian releases of S1 are spread across six discs, but have no extras and the picture is reportedly an NTSC-to-PAL conversion, which can look muddy. The current Australian Season 1 release is virtually identical to the US release.

The Australian releases of the remaining seasons are all six disc sets, but with no special features. Seasons two, three and five are all 4:3 (as is season one), but season four is 16:9. Yes, it's odd that they went with a 4:3 release of the final season (and three, as the original US release is widescreen), but these releases are handled by a small indie distributor, so I suppose that's the best they could get access to. The picture quality across each of the seasons is generally very good, with just some minor grain and noise.

As I understand, the Canadian releases from Alliance are all bare-bones, and from what I can gather, all seasons are 4:3.

My understanding is that the original ADV releases of seasons 3-5 were in Widescreen, those rips have been floating around the internet for ages.

The recent rereleases of all 5 though have been 4:3.
