no secondary door through each cube?

I watched this again recently and noticed something I hadn't before.

When they open a door into another cube, there should be a secondary door that they have to open, but there isn't one. They just open one door and can peer straight through to the next room.

I guess the filmmakers did this just to make it physically easier on themselves to film, but I wondered if I missed some internal logic of the story that explain this

it would have been boring to watch, since there is no point of showing us the opening of two doors every time the enter a room.

if you want a quick explanation it would be that we are shown that the doors open themselves through hydrolics, once you have triggered the opening mechanism through rotation of the handle and i don't see a reason why it wouldn't automatically trigger both doors for one passage instead of just the one that the handle is on.

Perhaps they work on the same mechanism and open simultaneously.

We got the freakin moon. What are you gonna do without tides, Peru?

this is shown when Holloway enters the cube at the beginning. We see the handle move on its own when Holloway opens it from the other side.

the doors work simultaneously.

reply

"the doors work simultaneously."

exactly.. it's shown clearly at the very first scene when the one dude looks through INTO the other room.
