i noticed that the main male character had a minnesota sweatshirt on. does this movie take place in minnesota?

I was wondering the same thing. Given the cold snowy climate and the fact that it took place in a heavily wooded area, it could easily have been set in northern Minnesota. Or maybe that's just where the guy attended college, who knows?

It may have been made in New Zealand, but I agree with the Minnesotans that the story is likely set Minnesota.

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

I live in MN and I noticed they mentioned a local road on the radio (Old Bass Lake Rd.). So I thought it was made in MN, too. Though no one had a typical accent. Also the naturalist is wearing a University of Minnesota sweatshirt.
