He killed it! 😀

reply

I LOVED it. I was wrong to pre-judge, he did a great job.

reply

He was hilarious...

The only critique I would say about the sketch itself is that they didn't do a parody on his constant water drinking...

"You're going to need a bigger boat"

reply

Boiling it down to a few-minute skit must've been difficult. What do you leave out when there is a plethora of material?

reply

Well I mean the constant grabbing of his water glass and looking nervous was a gift...I thought they would run with it...it could be that Alec thought the water part of it would interfere with his character portrayal...like I said in another thread, I think if they would have played it up by parodying his glass of water as getting bigger and bigger, it would have been hilarious...

"You're going to need a bigger boat"

Why is this on the View board?

Is there something going on I am not aware of being new to this board?

reply

1. Welcome to the board, ronaldt49! Like many new people, you're commenting on something that portrays Trump in a negative light.  Oh, and the fact that you mention "being new to this board" - priceless! Storm is learning his lesson.   

2. SNL has featured parodies of The View in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if a clip of the debate parody is shown on tomorrow's show or at least discussed. So, indeed, this thread is relevant to the show.

3. Still confused? Read some old threads. Scan past topics of threads.

reply

It really shouldn't be, but this board has been hijacked by people from both sides of the political spectrum. You will notice that most threads are political in nature and that there is a lot of immature back and forth name-calling between posters. If that's fine with you, then you won't mind being here. Otherwise, count yourself as being warned.

reply

When I first came to this board, I asked similar questions. I would ask, what does this have to do with The View. Without fail, the response was basically, "if you don't like it, get lost". Rude. I know, but that's the way it is around here. If you side with liberal on issues, you will be attacked by posters on the right and if you side with conservatives on issues you will be attacked by posters on the left. In fact, if you appear conservative in any way and express yourself as such more than once, you will likely be called a sock puppet. Not sure what that is? A sock puppet is a false online identity, typically created by a person or group in order to promote their own opinions or views. HesterHere is the worse for that, but their are definitely others. They seem to think that it is impossible for more than one person on this board to have an opposing view as them, so if that's the case it must be a sock puppet. Some will even claim to have you on ignore and try to make fun of you. Real mature, eh? Anyway, like I said earlier, if you can handle that, then by all means stick around, but no one would blame for never making another post on this board.

In the past 6 weeks, just how many threads have YOU started which pertained to the show and nothing else? One - the other day mocking the way Sunny pronounced 'Latina'.

How about in the past 6 months? 12 months? 18 months?
I do see you respond in threads which - as you say - are not 'View related', so you must be fine with these threads, so who are you kidding?

Sorry pvd, I didn't mean to "rattle your cage". And I rarely start threads and if I do, they are always about "The View". How is talking about Sunny not related or The View? She is a host of the show. How much more relevant can't you get?

You didn't even come close to 'rattling y cage', so no need to apologize. (And can't you be more original than copying what I said about you last week? I guess I should be honored...)

And I rarely start threads and if I do, they are always about "The View".

That's exactly my point - you rarely start any threads; you should contribute more about 'The View' since you appear to be disappointed with the threads everyone else starts and the direction they go.

I gave you CREDIT for the one post about Sunny from the other day, so I'm not really sure what you're questioning.

As I said!!!

Why is this discussion on the View board?

It should be on an Alec Baldwin board, an SNL board, a Donald Trump board, a 2016 debate board, even a Hillary Clinton board, but nowhere else.

reply

"Why is this discussion on the View board?"

Maybe because anybody that watches this show knew it would be a topic today.

Except you apparently!

right, djkdkid. Alec Baldwin as Trump was shown at the start of The View today.

reply

Yup, it was obvious it would be in the hot topics today.

The woman who does Hillary is horribly unfunny.
Yikes way off. Maybe a little too energetic, but other than that she's perfect.

reply

I love Kate McKinnon's Hillary.

I do, too, mojo. Kate McKinnon's great.

"No, she is truly awful. It's painful to watch her be 'funny'."

An Emmy says otherwise.

If it was so obvious that it was gonna be a topic today, why didn't you or anybody else answer his/her question before todays show, instead of jumping on here minutes after the topic was brought up to toot your own horn about how it was obvious to anybody who watches the show?

reply

Because I just figured he was another sock. I answered the second time he asked.

Why, you didn't think it would be a topic? Seriously??

I think Darrelll Hammmond's Trump is better, but I can understand why SNL would jump at the chance of havning a big name like Baldwin portray the part.

The torch has been passed! I died laughing. He nailed it! OMG! I was laughing so hard. 

"I saw that someone posted a new poll. It said that 1 out of 3 Trump supporters is as stupid as the other two."

reply

Me too, mojo. And, clearly, Baldwin was having a blast. This is a fun gig for him. The entire debate skit was so funny.

reply

[deleted]

well I mostly read and don't comment.. so I'm a new "poster", if you will... Anyway, the "topics" not actually related to the view are (in my mind) just important news in this election ... I love reading everyone thoughts.. But I do agree that there is too much name calling and childish comments...
*Britt* I'm with her!!!

The New Yorker gives a thumbs up, way up, for Baldwin's portrayal of Trump:
