The way it played out was tragic, because she was coming down there to shred the defendant to pieces, you could see it in her eyes, and in her smile.
When he tried to show how the accident was the plaintiff's fault, but his version didn't match the vehicle damage at all, he was done.
But instead of marching up to him and destroying his case, she missed a step and went down.
After the break, she went on to give him the, "want me to put you out of your misery?" line (I love when she asks that to a hopeless litigant who's just flailing blindly) but it was more subdued that it would have been if she hadn't slipped.

I was echoing what another poster once implied.

I disagree that this was "tragic" that she didn't get to tear the defendant a new own.
The fall was unfortunate, and I wish her no harm, but "tragic" applies to heart disease, cancer, and death.

It was an exaggeration. You could stand to loosen your definitions of words a little bit.
And yes, I believe the introduction of cancer and death into the discussion qualifies as melodrama.

My only guess is that SHE wanted it included. She seems like a pretty down-to-earth lady, not above making fun of herself.
