That black woman who was emotional about her DNA was/is foolish as heck.

1) She's an American first and foremost.
Her excitement about being connected to more than one tribe in Africa is so shallow, because it's the people who rear you and mentor you in life that most. There is no importance , but she tried to assign some degree of loyalty to people in Africa. She owes America and her family all her thanks, not partially to what DNA claims she is related to.

2) The older man who looks to be a white, she doesn't know him from anybody else! So she shouldn't have traveled to see him with or without anybody else!
He's a nobody to her, just as a sperm donor as a father would be to a child.

There is nothing wrong with her wanting to find her ancestors. She is no different than so many other people who search genealogy--they just want to find out about their family history. I highly doubt that she puts her closest friends and relatives down because of this test. This woman knows shes an American, its not like she said she was moving to Africa after all this.

I don't think her excitement was about those particular people in Africa. With that information should could possibly figure out where her family member came from. Just knowing that could actually aid in finding documents about your actual family members. To some people ancestors are important because it's why you are here today, and has had an effect on your entire being.

Ummm so what if she went to see a relative of hers. Obviously they had spent some time talking to each other before hand and they met in public place. Two adults. You have to wonder that maybe neither of them know that many of their relatives or maybe a lot of them have died, and that's why they are so bend on making a connection somewhere. But just because he looks white doesn't mean anything, they could still be 1st cousins and look that different. They might not have know each other before, but they are family now. Its more about the connection they've made with each other than anything.

Don't go off the subject by typing "There is nothing wrong with ..."

They DON'T have any real connection.

All of her emotions and reactions regarding that were artificial or over-the-top. I could choose ANYBODY, any stranger, and play the same actions that she did!

What is important is WHO has reared her, developed trust with her over long periods of time, and so on.

If she had found a biological parent (not found before), she should NOT seek that person out, and not spend time with that person. Medical information
is a different issue, which need NOT come directly a relative.

Don't give me an argument mired in emotionalism as you did, but in rational points.

Don't type "Ummm" because it shows you to be a sarcastic a-hole; instead take BACK that word and metaphorically shove it BACK down your throat. And next time you're thinking of typing that juvenile word (dragged out in its length in this case), DON'T.
