Does Andy Rooney actually get paid for his irrelevant rants?

This guy is so out of touch and never makes a point.

Do they actually pay him to whine?

No, it's NOT a difference of opinion.

All he has to do is use a topic to to tangentalize with President Bush and/or his administration and then turn his segment into anti-Bush propaganda.

I used to enjoy his stuff about 15 years ago. Nowadays the only things he does are, "Look at all this crap people send me," or "Look at these headlines I clipped from the newspaper."

I think he might be replaceable. Likely by anything from a parrot to a tire commercial.

I posted a few days back about a recent Rooney segment where he literally listed the stuff he keeps at his desk. If he's going for Andy Kaufman-style comedy, then great, I'll agree with you, he is irreplaceable.

But I assumed he was supposed to be relevant, not funny?
