yeah u could alrdy tell larenz tate was lip singing.. he just doesnt look like the kind of guy that would of had that kid voice.. i mean if they were gonna lip sing atleast find someone whos more suitable for the role.. i dont hate larenz tate because i thought he was really good in menace II society.. but i dont think he was the right one for this movie.

I think this is because, from the age that imdb.com has him, he would have been a "baby" when he was dating the gal from the Platters (played by Halle Berry). So say he was dating her in 1957-- the real Frankie would have been 15 years old! If he were dating her in 1960, he still would have only been 18! I am not so sure that his singing voice was only an issue of having a "falsetto"; I think he just was young...
