You say 'why encourage a mentally disabled person to go to college?'

I say, "Why not?" They should be encouraged to do the best under the circumstances.

If you show you child that he/she can do anything than that give the child the boost there need.

I guess I was thinking that because this movie came out in 1999, people weren't use to mentally disabled people being on their own. But I think these days, we are more often to encourage their independence which is good.
