Underrated Christmas Special
This ranks right up there with the Rankin/Bass classics.
shareI agree 100%.
He's taking the knife out of the Cheese!
Do you think he wants some cheese?
Not only did I watch this from the first showing (1962) but back in 1970 it was released to theaters on a double bill with Mr Magoo's Little Snow White (made for the tv series ''The Famous Adventures Of Mr Magoo'' in 1964) also an excellent retelling of the fairy tale. It was wonderful to see them on the big screen, and I have both the original poster and pressbook from this release.
shareI also saw this in '62 when it was first on, and I love it! It was my first exposure to "A Christmas Carol", and the story is my favorite of all time! Is there ANYWHERE that this treasure is shown? I think the most memorable line/song for me is "a candle in a jar, full of razzleberry dressing".
shareor some Woofle Jelly cake perhaps a slice.

I know this line--where the heck is it from--for the life of me I can't remember and it's been driving me crazy!
BIG hint here:
Arthur: He's taking the knife out of the cheese! Do you think he wants some cheese?
alfie
You know, in my head I was hearing Dudly Moore's voice saying it and Liza Minelli's voice answering a scared "I don't think so", but I don't remember it in the movie. When and what was happening at that time? It's been so long since I've seen it. Oh, never mind, I think it just came to me! Wasn't it near the end and it was referring to his future father-in=law?
shareI do think it was a really nice surprise. I'm up for various Christmas Carol adaptations, even with those animated. The songs are pretty good, too!
