I could've sworn there was a scene in PIPPI GOES ON BOARD when they go camping where Pippi sees a "flying rhinoceros" and shoots it, but it turns out to be a pine tree and it falls over. But in the DVD, it cuts straight from Pippi saying she hears cannibals to them dancing around a campfire.

This scene was from Episode 11, "Pippi is Shipwrecked," in the original 13-episode Swedish TV series (which the first two movies, Pippi Longstocking and Pippi Goes on Board, were based on).
Yes your right. They cut the scene with Pippi shooting a gun. The vhs release shows that but not the DVD
