Just watched this film and really enjoyed it. one thing that has been bugging me.
Is Takashi Cesare who plays the Korean half brother Gondo. Is he related to Takashi Miike? Hes in at least one other of Miike's films. Does anyone know?
Or have i got it completely wrong and Takashi is their first name.
I have tried looking it up but the net has let me down. I found out that he's a martial artist but thats about it.
They are not related at all. Besides, Gondo was not played by Ceasar Takeshi, who had been a kick boxing champion in 1970's. Ceasar played the role of long haired twin yakuza. Gondo was played by Satoshi Niizuma, who was also a kick boxer when the movie was filmed. Do you remember Aizone, who was the classmate of Riki Fudoh and very big guy? Shunji Takano played the role and he was a 6-7 tall professional wrestler. I do not know the reason why Miike used a lot of unprofessional actors but professional fighters.
By the way, Mike was born and rasied in Yao, Osaka, where is considered one of the dirtiest and most dangerous places in Japan.
