They could have just shoved him off the damn cliff the first time!

Okay, yeah, this movie mad no sense. Setting aside whatever other plot holes there, Michael Vartan and Rand could have easily just shoved Matthew Lillard off the cliff the first time they were out there. They were both there and, while Rand was playing dead, he could have easily gotten the upper hand and, with Vartan's help, just shoved Lillard off then INSTEAD of all the elaborate crap that went on after that just to get him back to the exact same place.

The whole movie really does make no sense.
