This movie should NOT be classified as a 'Comedy'

Sure there were some little jokes here and there, but this movie is terribly sad, from what i remember. I felt sorry for the boy and his mother... it was just plain depressing for the most part. How is that "Comedic?"

reply

Agreed. I saw it on Starz Comedy and I came to that conclusion pretty quickly.

I think whoever was to distribute this movie was embarassed (stupidly so) by the undertone and decided to rebrand the movie as a comedy, hence the very stupid new poster and the title "The Dress Code".

If it was not for a few bad words (including an "N" word, but used in context), this movie should be public network.

Give that kid an oscar. Bravo Bruno!

its about as funny as "Heathers" with Christian Slater. Dark Humor or Morbidly comedic are better terms but yeah, it doesnt really "fit" nicely into any one catagory... its playing on Encore this month but it wasnt listed in the January On Demand films.

I actually it was very funny at times. The humour is very dark and subtle. But I also thought it was very sad movie as well. The saddest part was when the grandmother and father confront each other in the locker room.

It is not the type of humor where people do stupid things. It is subtle humor. For me, people doing stupid things is just stupid; it is not funny for me. I enjoy subtle humor such as this; I don't enjoy most humor where people do stupid things. I don't enjoy the negative parts but it is not all negative.

I expect that some people will criticize what I am saying. That is unfortunate; just note that criticism is easy.

Dramady should become an accepted classification for films.

Agreed. Sorry that people felt "sorry" for the boy...I personally, in the words of La Maclaine, felt he had some big balls. It was quite clear to me before he even voiced it that he didn't want to be a girl, he just liked wearing dresses. To be that secure in yourself at that early of an age with that kind of adversity to face is extremely advanced...way more advanced than the average bear and definately the complete opposite of one requiring sympathy.

You go boy.
