It Blows

Do I really need to elaborate? This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. If you think it's good there's something wrong with you.

vote THE TRIAL (1962) into the Top 250!

Im really looking forward to watching this! sometimes a REALLY bad film is just what I need!
Doesn't make it better; I'm about to see it in a german dubbed version.

(Thoug: Michael Sarrazin usualy makes a film worth the time)

My God, man! Are you insane?? I just watched the original english version, and it's truly terrible. And you want to watch the german version?? I'm German myself, so I know that 99.9% of all modern dubbings over here are absolutely awful (things seemed to be better in the '70s). Your post was a while ago - I hope you didn't die of shock or something!

Although I prefer to call it geographically challenged ;-)

Living (growing up) this close (see my nick: I'm danish!) to a very large and wealthy culture gave me the opportunity to see A LOT of films on the three german channels (back then, you know...) and not only the single 'film on saturday night' from the single danish public service channel. (subtitles)

These days, however, i refer to german-dubbed versions only when It's an absolute B-film (or a show I cannot see otherwise (Being a danish trekkie also wasn't a lot of fun as the only Trek on tv was on german tv. -Still is!).

-I guess I agree with your point about the evolution of dubbing.

BTW, Is it just me or have german tv-films (and shows like "Tatort") -over the same timespan- deteriorated to the made for video-quality that we were used to see only from 'over there'???

Nice HP! -Simple and concise!

Oh, and I also like your sig.

Don't know much about "Tatort" and TV movies. I lived in Australia for 10 years (until 1999), so I didn't get to see much of that. I've seen a couple of old "Tatort" movies, which were pretty good. Judging by the previews I've seen on TV since, I'd imagine you're right about the deterioration. They don't look too promising for the most part. I think there's very little quality being produced for TV these days. Thank God I'm a "Premiere" subscriber (Pay TV). Only about 5% of what I watch is on free TV or cable.

The saddest thing is, even german productions are often as badly dubbed as english-to-german conversions! Since the equipment used can't be that different (it's probably exactly the same), I can only put it down to sloppy film making.

But, since most young people (the main target group) only watch the likes of "Big Brother #293" (or whatever they're up to now), "Viva la Bam" and "Pimp My Ride" anyway, what can you expect?

Oh, and my HP is still in the making (just gotta figure out WHAT to make...). But thanks for looking. And the sig is from "Fathers' Day" (Robin Williams), by the way.

I know, that's why I came here. I've seen part 1 already and I was curious about the imdb rating for part 2. I know that I definitley WON'T watch part 2

Of course you do!

Seems you're not the kind that enjoys a 'bad' movie though. Tell me, how do you think about Plan 9 from Outer Space and , say, Avalon: Beyond the Abyss
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052077/ and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0212645/)

And I'm still looking forward to watching The Second Arrival tonight ;-)

I never heard of "Avalon: Beyond the Abyss", though. Is it worth it?

I have previously written about it:

What an eyeopener! -It's a comedy!

And the rest of it:

Avalon was no Oscar winner, but it was ok.

You want good cheesy fun, try - Kraken, Tentacles Of The Deep! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486099/
