Very few dramas of this thoughtfulness and excellence

I have never heard of this history, but the subject matter while
not as dramatic and action oriented as other war movies or
series, was on the whole much more thoughtful and contemplative.

This chapter was not a victory or happy one for anyone. The theme
music of this series captures that perfectly.

I was so sad to learn that almost all of the principles in the show
have passed away.

This is a close look at the Nazi occupation of Guernsey that shows the
whole progressive of events in dramatic fictionalized terms. The reality
that I read a little about was much worse. The island was pretty much
used as a concentration camp of sorts end the lives of the islanders
through attrition while the Germans used their labor and took their
property.

It highlights the differences between the Nazi Party members, the
zealots like the SS and the Gestapo, and the regular army soldiers,
and officers.

For anyone interested in, or who does not know much about WWII,
this is a excellent dramatization without being all distracted by war
and violence, a story principly about people.

It is really excellent ... 10/10/
