Why didn't Billy West reprise his role as Doug (and the others)?

Was he doing other stuff at the same time or was there something personal about it that didn't want him to come back to it?

Stuff like this reminds me of "Movie Poop Shoot.com" from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

My guess is that disney wanted their own people

Doesn't make much sense though cause everyone else from the old Nickelodeon show reprised their roles except for him.

Billy said it was a role he considered he had done well and it was time to put it aside and move on

They offered him less money to do more work. He told them to call him back when they had a better offer, and they never called him again.

Correction: He told them the wasn't interested in the "more work for less money" deal they were presenting, and they kept harassing him with phone calls, but the offer never got any more enticing. Billy said he watched the Disney Doug once and he couldn't watch it, because the guy who replaced him was making completely different artistic choices than him and it drove him crazy.

I thought Tom McHugh did a pretty good job with Doug, I grew up with the Disney version so to be honest I actually prefer McHugh over West, didn't really notice much of a difference in Roger's voice though.

The newer guy sucked.
