Everyones best bet for a DVD...

I posted this in the original doug forums too, is to go here http://tvshowsondvd.com/ and sign up. Once you sign up you can vote for which shows deserve to be on DVD and Doug is clearly one of them. I doesn't take anymore than 2 minutes to sign. This is a legit site and could be one of the many options us fans have to get the word out on how much we want a Doug dvd release.

The Black Donnellys DVD = Sept. 4th!
What Happened to TNTs "Smash Hit of the Summer" Saved?

There ios apparently a dispute between disney (abc whichever owns the right to the show) and Nickelodeon on who should get the profits Nick for initially starting the show, or should they still be able to claim the original episodes for profit, or should disney/abc have rights to all of the Doug episodes or just the ones that were created while the owned the series. But apparently they want to put out DVDs but there is a huge legal dispute.

Disney should just buy the episodes from Nickelodean and make the DVD already.

Amazon just finished the first 4 seasons of Nick's Doug, so Disney's should be out soon.

I really doubt that. Disney rarely has interest in the older TV shows they produced. With the exceptions of the series like DuckTales, Chip n' Dale, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck and Gummi Bears. And even those were never completed because Disney just stopped releasing the sets. The only way we'll see the Disney version of Doug is if they allow another company to release it like they did with Boy Meets World, 8 Simple Rules and a few others. But I doubt they see any demand for it so we'll probably never see this series again.

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

Do you have a source for that? I don't buy it.

Nickelodeon continued to air REAL Doug for years while Disney was showing their own "Doug." And Nickelodeon brought it back and aired it on "Teen Nick."

As far as profiting is concerned; networks profit far more from advertising revenue they generate from the audiences the show airings attract than they ever do from putting out DVDs.

Nickelodeon owns the rights to REAL Doug, and Disney owns the rights to their "Doug." That's the end of it, as far as I know.
