You bring up a good point, and something I have wondered before myself.

The movie was a ABC Television Movie of the week in 1986 and used live action animatronics rather than animation. Many of the characters voices were also different, as the ABC special used Los Angeles based voice talent while the television show, the animated series, was completed in Canada, and with the exceptions of Phil Baron (Teddy) and Will Ryan (Grubby) used Canadian based voice actors, so it's interesting to hear the differences.

I will try to see if I can get a page for the ABC special going somehow.

I have the movie on video, it is really cute, also if you like you can go on ebay where you can get it for like less than $10. Also amazon might have it there as well.
Hope that helps.

I still have a really beat to hell copy of that on VHS, as a kid I played it so much I'm surprised its still intact. Thank god it was mentioned on this board, because I can't find ANY trace of that movies existance on the web. I was starting to think I was losing my mind and thinking stuff up. "Wait...they did a live action! I watched it all the time...didnt I? OH GOD! ITS HAPPENING AGAIN!!!"

check out http://www.allcluesnosolutions.com/index.php?productID=328 for a fairly cheap copy. if the link doesn't work or is taken out, just go to google and search for allcluesnosolutions and then search on that page for teddy ruxpin.

it brought back a lot of great memories!

well if your looking for the movie.... lyle goff is trying to get it included in for the october special release.... in october millcreek will release a complete series with many bonus features.... some of them include the live action movie... a scrap book with pictures of the old toys that were released... hopeful hearts want to see some old commercials, and perhaps a few read along stories narrated by one of the characters.

These are some of the things that we are asking for... i know for a fact that lyle goff is trying his best to get this for all of us fans.... also the more sets they sell the more likely the chances are we will see our treasured bonus features.

anyway i have to jet i will tty all soon.
