Maybe am one of the few who loiked this movie enought to wish a couple more had been made. Further meetups between Vincent and Sam. These charactars IMO more enjoyabdle and believable than a Jason Bourne forv instance.
shareJohn Frankenheimer - the director - passed away 4 years after this movie was released. He had been ill for several years prior to that.
I'm guessing that killed any chance of sequels...
That and the fact the movie didn't make that much money.
Besides, now that we know that Sam (DeNiro) is still in the Agency, there's no real mystery left- anything he does will be an agency-sponsored op.
It would have been cool, but there were too many things against it happening.
